Marymede Catholic College, Junior Learning A
Marymede Catholic College is a co-educational Catholic school offering a complete education for students at their existing campus in South Morang. The College, in conjunction with the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS) are in the process of developing a new campus at Doreen. The campus is being delivered in multiple phases, to deliver an integrated Education Centre incorporating an Early Learning Centre (ELC) together with a Secondary School (Year 7 – 12) facility.
As a greenfield site, this project presented a number of challenges including:
- a significant slope across the site
- challenging geotechnical conditions including existing dams
- significant native vegetation & wildlife
- requirement to manage new connections for the site, including power, water & sewer, stormwater & comms
The Junior Learning A project was the second phase in the development of the College's Doreen campus completed in 2024.
The main facility includes a three storey educational building including teaching spaces for science, art, fabrication, music, textiles, STEAM, media and drama. A soccer pitch and extensive landscaping were also included around the facility.
