Northcote High School, The Hub
Northcote High School, a co-educational state school located on St Georges Rd, is situated just north of the Merri Creek Reserve and east of High Street in Northcote.
The new three-storey Learning Resource and STEM Building includes a range of facilities such as:
- Library
- Student services and careers office
- Specialised STEM learning spaces, featuring four large science laboratories
- Collaborative general learning areas
- Maker space
- Staff and student amenities
Community engagement was a key focus, achieved by fostering a distinct school identity through the building's design, enhancing wayfinding, and providing facilities that serve the broader community beyond regular school hours.
The interior layout is centred around a main circulation area and informal support learning spaces, organised into four distinct nodes. These nodes house the primary learning spaces of the building, including laboratories, general learning areas, and outdoor learning zones, as well as centralised staff workspaces and a tech lab.
