Montmorency Secondary College Stadium

Montmorency Secondary College Stadium

Designed by Sean Godsell Architects, the new addition to Montmorency Secondary College comprises a new three basketball court stadium including a show court, staff and student change rooms, entry foyer, kiosk, a courtside training room and offices, as well as training rooms and facilities for external sport club use.

The new sports centre is used by Montemorency Secondary College, the local community and is home to the Eltham Wildcats Basketball team.

The new stadium was built on an existing carpark that was demolished and replaced with a new basement car park for 91 cars plus 12 alternative vehicles. Rainwater harvesting tanks and dedicated waste management zones were incorporated into the new build. Ancillary landscaping includes a forecourt between the new and existing two-court stadium, with terraced grassed student areas, shade trees and seating.

Fontic worked closely with the VSBA, the Eltham Wildcats and the design team to deliver a design solution and construction outcome that exceeds expectation. Fontic undertook the role of Superintendent - managing the delivery of the project to completion and final certificate.

The project was delivered within a live school environment with ongoing stakeholder engagement.
