Geelong Civic Precinct Bid

Geelong Civic Precinct Bid

Engaged by APN Property and Raffles Chatter to manage and coordinate the tender submission for the new Geelong Civic precinct inclusive of the Geelong City Council office building, Fontic were responsible for developing the proposal, negotiating the commercial proposal, design management, tender and pricing and legal structuring.

The team aimed to amalgamate a number of properties to develop a new urban renewal project that would deliver a new civic centre in the City

of Geelong. The proposed precinct was to deliver two new commercial offices (to meet minimum requirement of 8,500sqm total net lettable area),

a new town square, new arts precinct, carparking and new connection links to the city. The proposal also included the opportunity for the City to expand in a connected sister building at a future date. Our scheme offered flexibility in how the additional future uptake can be achieved.

The bid targeted a highly functional and utilised civic space and public realm that could accommodate

a range of uses such as organised cultural, arts, creative and tourism events, further increasing the visitation, utilisation and tourism output for the area.

Fontic were the project lead and face of the bid submission, working closely with Grimshaw Architects to masterplan the precinct and Kane Construction to resolve buildability, program and pricing requirements.
