VSBA New Schools 2022 Bundle A, Primary Schools
Fontic were engaged as project manager and superintendent for both Bundles A and B of the New Schools 2022 Program, one of Victoria's largest investments in education infrastructure. Bundle A comprised five new primary schools in the outer northwest growth corridor suburbs of Wollert, Melton, Kalkallo, Gisborne and Deanside.
For three of these primary schools, an Early Learning Centre or Community Hub was also provided in partnership with the local Council.
The buildings were designed as template facilities for maximum efficiency and project delivery. Each primary school included:
- two Learning Neighbourhood buildings with general purpose classrooms, and flexible and collaborative teaching spaces
- an Administration building with a library, staff offices and amenities
- a Community Hub with a competition-grade gymnasium, performing arts space and commercial kitchen

- playground, bike shed and associated landscaping
These projects were delivered on greenfield sites, and despite key challenges such as COVID restrictions in the construction industry, all projects were delivered on time and on budget in January 2022.
